I recently had the opportunity to spend some time with the St Kitts and Nevi Tourism Board, I wanted to share with you the top reasons why you should consider St Kitts and Nevis for your honeymoon. Check out this quick video for a glimpse into the wonder of the islands.
- Where are the islands of St Kitts and Nevis located? St. Kitts and Nevis are located in the West Indies, Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles
- What is unique about St Kitts and Nevis? The smallest sovereign state in the Americas in both land mass and population. One island country in the Caribbean Sea, composed of two islands – known for their natural beauty, sunny skies, warm waters and sun kissed beaches combine to make this one of the most seductive destinations in the Caribbean, but yet so many fail to put these islands on their short list of destinations to consider when planning a vacation. St Kitts is uncrowded, unspoiled and the natural beauty takes first time visitors by surprise and for repeat visitors it is the reason they return. Some say the natural beauty reminds them of driving the Road to Hana on Maui, and I tend to agree with them.
- Why should my romance travel clients choose St Kitts and Nevis over other islands in the Caribbean for their honeymoon? What makes her so special?
~Lush and tropical – nature lovers can explore tropical rainforest.
~lagoons and underwater marine line are perfect for snorkeling and diving.
~gorgeous beaches that remain relatively crowd-free.
~accommodations range from small 3-star family owned hotels to 5-star luxury hotels and villas offering bucket list experiences.
St Kitts
Mount Liamuiga (a dormant volcano) stands guard over the island and stands as a reminder there is so much to see and explore on the island from lava formations, lush tropical forests to secluded lagoons some with black sand beaches. So whether your into traditional water sports like snorkeling, scuba diving or sailing or exploring the island – St Kitts Scenic Railway is one fun way to explore the island you will definitely not run out of things to do-or you are on vacation so enjoy the uncrowded, unspoiled peace found on the island and take a nap by sea
Some of my favorite luxury accommodations are Bellemont Farm, Marriott Royal Beach Resort & Casino, Park Hyatt St. Kitts and the new Koi Resort – a little more budget friendly but no less wonderful would be Royal St. Kitts Hotel, Timothy Beach Hotel and the Sugar Bay Club.
Nevis
The smaller of the two islands is an unspoiled paradise. Visitors are lured by endless stretches of beach fringed by azure waters and accented by tropical vegetation – a true tropical postcard worthy destination. Most activities on the island center around the beach- here visitors can scuba dive, kayak, deep sea fish or explore the interior of the island where you will find a wide variety of flora. All across the island an abundance of wildlife can be found as well including green vervet monkeys in the rainforest and giant nesting sea turtles and if in season you might see humpback whales. If you are into nature – Nevis is definitely an island you should put on your short list to visit soon.
My two favorite luxury resorts on Nevis are Four Seasons Resort Nevis and Paradise Beach Nevis other accommodations a little more budget friendly would be Montpelier Nevis, Nesbit Plantation, Golden Rock Nevis, Oualie Beach and Hermitage Nevis.
Getting married on St Kitts and Nevis is very easy without a residency requirement – Catholic weddings are a bit more involved and they must have the wedding in a church. I work with great wedding planners on the islands to help my clients wedding dreams come true.
