Although the proper Hawaiian place name is Halona Beach Cove, it is often referred to by its nickname “Eternity Beach” . This small beach was made popular after the filming of the movie From Here to Eternity in 1953 (starring Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr), their incredibly romantic love scene captured the imaginations of movie goers then and those that happen to watch the movie yet today. Located to the west of another photo opportunity Halona Blowhole, to get down to the beach visitors must hike down a rocky path, but please do be extremely careful as it can be slippery and the path is very steep. Free parking is available at the Halona Blowhole lookout point , but be mindful there are no facilities. Also, the current here can be very turbulent, so if you venture out into the water only when the ocean is calm – there are no lifeguards here. Pay attention to the surf, it is too dangerous to get into the water if the surf is up, you could risk being tossed against the many rocky areas that guard this intimate little beach, a great place to get away from other tourist and work on your tan.
