Once you choose your destination for your Sandals or Beaches Resorts vacation, now you need to choose which room category. The question I am most often asked by clients is if a butler suite is worth the extra cost and what exactly are the advantages to booking a butler category over club and luxury level room.
Elite Butler Suites at both Sandals and Beaches Resorts offer the best views, locations and unique experiences. They are normally larger and some suites offer private pools.
Ten reasons to consider booking an elite butler service suite:
1. Your butler service experience begins before you arrive to the resort through your pre-arrival butler preference form and the butler team -they communicate with you to personalize your experience and assist with arrangements in advance, chilled champagne and a bite of something to eat after your long day of travel will be waiting in your suite
2. Depending upon the destination and resort / if offered you will receive private chaueffeur driven airport transfers to your resort/ otherwise upon arrival to your resort, you are met by your butler on duty, escorted to your suite where your check in process is completed (some resorts also include vip private airport transfers to/from the resort as well)
3.Communication – you will have a butler phone to communicate directly with your butler team member on duty – This is Chad, my butler during my recent stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian – loved hearing “It’s Chad the Butler” when I called him.
4. Sandals and Beaches butlers are trained by the English Guild of Butlers, they respect your privacy, they do not hover around or anything weird like that, their service is bespoke based upon each guest preference- you simply call them or communicate in advance services you wish assistance with.
5. Assistance with dinner reservations they will come collect you just prior to your reservation escort you to your table, breakfast by room service and time and they will handle that for you (food allergies are no problem)
6. Your butler is trained to discreetly unpack your luggage and press your first nights clothes if you wish, but l personally never use that service – any special housekeeping needs or questions- your butler will liaise with that department to make sure your request are taken care of
7. Pool or beach chairs- upon request your butler will reserve a chair by the pool or on the beach and provide a cooler of your preferred beverages (out of respect to other guests, some resorts have a time constraint as to when you must claim your chairs)
8. Butler suites come with Instagram worthy robes and slippers
9. Butlers love assisting with surprise arrangements for birthday, anniversary or surprise wedding proposals -so be sure to let them know – don’t be surprised to return from dinner to find a bubble bath and chilled champagne waiting for you, I have a gluten allergy and often return to my suite to find custom gluten free treats.
10. Departure Day eventually comes unfortunately, but having a butler makes departure easier for sure- you don’t have to worry about anything- they will come collect your luggage and assist you to the departure lobby for your transfer
Tipping is allowed and you should be prepared to tip your butler team (normally a team of three) on your last day at the resort- although there isn’t a set amount to tip, you should consider how much your butler team enhanced your overall vacation experience, what you required assistance with, at Beaches Resorts- what did they do to spoil your children and add to your family vacation? you can tip your butlers in cash, l personally leave a thank you card with their name on it if they are off duty, or you can add to your room charge and pay by credit card.
As a Sandals & Beaches Preferred Agent, l have personally stayed at all resorts** and stayed in all levels of room categories and I must confess butler categories are definitely my favorite. **with the exception of the brand-new Sandals Saint Vincent & Grenadines – but going there next week. A word to the wise though, butler categories will normally book quickly so I wouldn’t wait too long to start planning. A small deposit of $98 holds most butler suites and please ask me about service discounts with required credentials.
