With today’s average age for brides and grooms being 27 and 29 respectively, most couples have been out of college long enough to set up their household and have all the basic household necessities, so to avoid receiving another crock pot or toaster many brides and grooms are choosing to set up an online honeymoon gift registry.
So easy to set up your registry because of the top online registry sites have sample registries for you to view to give you ideas, and by using the pre-created templates it is just a matter of filling in your personal information, photos and information about the destination you have chosen for your honeymoon.
Choices- companies such as my personal favorites The Honeymoon.com and Honeymoon Wishes.com offer you the ability to customize your registry by adding to, editing or deleting suggested gift items for your destination. My clients prefer their flexibility so they can include things in their registry such as first class upgrades for their flights, local tours and activities – especially when I am putting together a Hawaii Honeymoon where my clients are visiting two or more islands, they do not want to be tied to the registry of just one hotel or resort. They may want a Luau on one island, swim with the dolphins on another island, and a helicopter tour on another island, a honeymoon gift registry helps them to be able to add so many unique experiences to their honeymoon.
Choices in the type of registry you set up – The first type of registry you create a specific list of activities and gifts that you would like to have purchased and you are locked into those – this is fine if you are visiting an all inclusive resort such as Sandals Resorts where you have the opportunity to utilize all the options on our registry such as spa, romantic dinner on the beach and tours offered by the resort. The second type of registry which is the preferred type by most of my clients which allows your guest to purchase items and the value of the item they purchase is deposited into your registry account. A week before you get married you receive a check in the mail. Your account normally stays open for 30 days after the wedding and you can choose to receive one last check for those that procrastinated and purchased last minute gifts.
The misconception that only couples on a budget set up a honeymoon registry no loner applies – just as no two couples are alike – no two honeymoons are just alike. Once the couple has chosen the perfect honeymoon destination the fun part of planning which activities based upon their interests begins, for most couples finding the perfect balance of beach time and local cultural activities creates a lifetime of memories. A Honeymoon Registry will allow couples the freedom to think outside the box and try new activities such as cooking classes, stand up paddle boarding, zip lining, scuba diving that they might not have otherwise done, and how special to write a personal note in the thank you card to the person that purchased that activity for you as you describe the experience to them.
