I have just returned from staying at Secrets Baby Beach in Aruba, I have to say my expectations were exceeded, I actually loved my stay at Aruba’s newest all-inclusive adults only resort. Such careful attention was paid to the architecture, color palette and every aspect of decor and design throughout the resort – desert chic would be the most fitting description I could offer.
Located about 30 minutes from the airport, just beyond the town of San Nicolas, as someone who has been to Aruba many times, I was curious as to how they were going to build a resort on Baby Beach, but they nailed it as far as I am concerned. From the moment you arrive in the open-air lobby with inviting seating areas overlooking iconic Baby Beach, you just feel at home. Guests who booked a Preferred Club Suite will be escorted to the Preferred Club Lounge for check-in, while remaining guests will check in at the front desk lobby. Rendezvous lobby bar and Coco Cafe for coffee and treats are there for guest comfort.
Secrets Baby Beach boasts 304 luxury suites in total, I stayed in a Preferred Club Ocean View Suite, the room was very comfortable with a seating area, king size bed, full bathroom with separate shower and double vanities, large private balcony furnished with bistro set and hot tub overlooking the ocean. Service was amazing, I used the Hyatt Inclusive App to order room service, check restaurant menus and on the last day to schedule with the bell stand to collect my luggage for check out and departure for the airport. The room had a stocked fridge and mini bar, Nespresso coffee maker, robes and slippers and a safe.
I applaud any resort that strives to improve sustainability and make it easier for guest to practice sustainability at the resort, much discussion is always made about water bottles and recycling and I was so surprised to see that this resort thought about this in the design of the resort – conveniently located throughout the hallways you will find these ice and water stations, so refilling your water bottles is easy. Aruba has the largest desalinization plant in the Caribbean, the $20 USD you pay when you complete your Aruba ED immigration form goes towards the maintenance of this plant.

All-inclusive options include seven dining options and six bars offering top-shelf spirts and beverages- I loved the lower plaza area where most of the restaurants are located, Prelude Bar, outdoor seating and entertainment while you wait to be seated for dinner. As someone that travels with a severe gluten allergy, I am happy to report I was given an allergy card at check in, I showed that to the wait staff at each restaurant, each question I had for the chef answered and every meal was delicious. One morning I went to the Preferred Club Restaurant for breakfast, I asked if gluten free pancakes were an option, they were not, but my server Fe, asked the chef to create something for me, and she surprised me with delicious French toast – I appreciated her going above and beyond and providing a great alternative for me.

The top question I am getting from clients is the beach, how does that work? I am happy to report that it was like a 3-5 minute walk down the path or a quick golf cart ride if you prefer. You will be asked by security to provide your room number when you leave the resort and again when you come back to the resort. There is resort staff on the beach to assist you- Mike was so helpful providing me with a towel, beach chair and beverages. Just look for the white van and Secrets Flag for the beach attendants.
I personally prefer spending time in the resort pools and spent time in the oceanfront Preferred Club pool, the Infinity Pool and the Activity Pool, I had a great experience. Again, carrying the desert chic vibe through the pool areas with cacti and landscaping found in a desert environment, plenty of chairs throughout the pool decks. For an amazing over the top experience be sure and reserve one of the oceanfront infinity havens- cabana for shade, lounge chairs and your own private plunge pool (with jets) complete with personalized service to pamper you throughout the day.
Guest who enjoy the spa, will be glad to know there is a full service spa, beauty salon and fitness center – the hydrotherapy pools overlook Baby Beach below.
I had the opportunity to spend time with Njurely, the weddings and groups manager checking out the most popular venues here at the resort- as a destination wedding specialist, nothing takes the place of personally traveling to the resorts and developing relationships with the resort team. Baby Beach Terrace and the Infinity Terrace are both gorgeous backdrops to showcase your ceremony, cocktails and group dinners.

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to experience this new resort, there is always a period of the staff getting to know each other and the general workings of the resort coming together, but I am amazed at how well the team that Ricardo Portillo (the director of sales) works seamlessly together. I have been visiting new resorts for thirty years and I do not recall a resort opening to be so organized from the very beginning. Thanks so much to Julie Robinson my business development manager with Hyatt Inclusive Resorts for putting this fabulous trip together and Ricardo for hosting us.
