Wailua Golf Club is Kauai’s top-rated public course and according to Golf Digest is very high on the list of best municipal courses in the nation , located on Kaua’i’s eastern shore ,this 18-hole – Par 72 course is surrounded by stately old ironwood trees and Norfolk pines, has played host to three USGA National Public Links Amateur Championships. Fun fact – Wailua was Bing Crosby’s favorite hangout and he proclaimed the 17th hole the most beautiful he had ever seen, with its elevated tee and ocean running around he fairway to behind the green. Kaua’i Lagoons Golf Club offers two Jack Nicklaus courses -Kiele hosted the 1991 PGA Grand Slam of Golf and voted one of the top 100 golf courses in America by Golf  Digest. Golfers are treated to spectacular views of the Hoary Head Mountains and Kalapaki Beach. Kiele is great for long hitters – Lagoons a little more forgiving is a Scottish-style links course with open fairways, little water and the undulating greens challenge even the best of putters. Kiahuna Golf Club is as scenic as it is challenging as it is complemented by an area of ancient Polynesian archeology. Opened in 1983, Kiahuna is consistently rated amount the top courses in Hawai’i and the USA by both Golf Digest and  Golf Magazine. Grove Farm Golf Course at Puakea is surrounded y the splendor of mountain and ocean views of historic Kaua’i and adjacent to where “Jurassic Park” was filmed.  Featuring a Robin Nelson designed par 40-10 hole course and is rated in the top ten courses nationwide. Poipu Bay Resort and Golf Course a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. links-style layout, offers a unique golfing experience. Since opening in 1991, this course which covers 210 seaside acres offers golfers spectacular views of steep mountains, towering Oceanside cliffs and beautiful beaches with the backdrop of the ocean. Brisk trade winds blow downwind on six holes and upwind on six with crosswinds on the remaining six  a challenge indeed.
